You know dam well what I'm on about Square Eyes! I hate the ident and that's that! I won't bother expressing a strong opinion next time, because I'll remember that you'll shoot me in the head seventeen times. My goodness - do you always talk to people like that? If you do, I wouldn't be surprised If you've been seeing a pshycologist to help you socialise with people better. People like you worry me!

I'm not shooting anyone in the head (!!!??) I am merely giving you the opportunity to expand upon your loathing of this ident, and why you think it is political correctness gone mad. I don't understand.

No need to get personal and offensive.

does anyone know how the correct ident is picked, does the anouncer pick, or are they guidelines?

The presentation areas choose appropriate idents for each junction, this is sometimes done automatically depending on the playout area.

The only ident which is special is BALLET and this is only used in junctions into programmes covering major news stories, such as royal deaths etc.

You would think that if they put ballet aside, they would actually have used it during the special tsunami bulletins. Sorry, but I really can't let this go!!!! (I have written several emails to the bbc, none of which they have bothered to reply to) Laughing

That's a good point - there hasn't been a news story quite as saddening as the tsunami for a while. Ballet would have been suitable for introducing the news specials.

I thought it was obvious why the ident is so PC. I find it extremely patronising and annoying. I also despise the audio. I know, I'm in the minority here, but that's my view.

I take it you don't like indian music, so clearly you must hate anything multicultural.

I hate practically all of BBC One's current idents, but that doesn't mean I'm racist or against anything multicultural though.

I like Bollywood too - the music is one of the best. Other musically good ones are Skateboarders, Tango and Salsa (that was my initial favourite from April 2002).

Bollywood: Actual ident is crap, music is good. Tango's music is lovely as well, and the ident is nice, shame there isn't more people around in it though...

I'm not accusing him of racism, but clearly he hates this ident because it has in his eyes it has "foreign music".

Is it PC because the Daily Mail said so? Will it affect house prices too?
