Has anyone noticed this. Every single week day this week, BBC1 has used the "Bollywood" ident at the 8:00pm slot. It really annoys me because I absolutely despise this one.
I'm sick to death of having political correctness being shoved into my living room all the time. "Haka" is always shown at the 12:10 slot before Football Focus, but that makes sense doesn't it?
does anyone know how the correct ident is picked, does the anouncer pick, or are they guidelines?
The presentation areas choose appropriate idents for each junction, this is sometimes done automatically depending on the playout area.
Not sure if there are any written guidelines, however, they tend to only use certain idents before News programmes (Skate, Tai Chi, Acrobats, Capoeira) but can use any ident for any other junction. Obviously, sometimes it makes sense to use certain idents before certain programmes.
The only ident which is special is BALLET and this is only used in junctions into programmes covering major news stories, such as royal deaths etc.

I like Bollywood too - the music is one of the best. Other musically good ones are Skateboarders, Tango and Salsa (that was my initial favourite from April 2002).
Am I the only one who doesn't like "Bollywood"? It's thanks to people like you that the BBC controllers think - "Ooh! It's 8:00pm, everyone's come home from work and is tired and exhausted, so lets remind them how much we respect other cultures before they watch Eastenders - bring out "Bollywood"!
Looks like you are the only one that dosen't like Bollywood, I don't know why you hate it though, Britain is a multi-cultural country after all, but presumably you don't like this fact.

It's one of the BBC One idents. Would you be making the same amount of fuss about the wheelchair ident, or is just the Bollywood one in particular that get's you so enraged ?

You know dam well what I'm on about Square Eyes! I hate the ident and that's that! I won't bother expressing a strong opinion next time, because I'll remember that you'll shoot me in the head seventeen times. My goodness - do you always talk to people like that? If you do, I wouldn't be surprised If you've been seeing a pshycologist to help you socialise with people better. People like you worry me!
