I heard the clown jumped out of the TV set and killed annoying little 13 year olds. In retrospect, it's a shame that you weren't watching.

Yeah, it was really. Poor You, there is always next year. Laughing

Clowns are murderers so you shouldn't really joke.

My caps were taken on the computer, which shows me the entire image. As mentioned regularaly (and dismissed) in the Mocks forum, you won't see the extreme edges of the picture on a normal TV because of overscan.

afternoon all,

My analouge service comes from Caradon Hill transmitter, (South West) now i did get the image. but i couldn't see all of the coulour bars at the top, nor could i see the train properties at the bottom or the sides.

Could this be that my TV is incorectly set up or maybe just the signal?

Could any one tell me?

All domestic televisions have a certain amount of cut off. Sometimes (but rarely) this is adjustable in the menus. Don't worry about it.

Testcard J was first seen in november 1999. check out meldrum
its likely that the german shepherd one you saw was probably a mickey take

Does anyone actually know when BBC2 stopped showing the testcard? I seem to recall seeing it just before 6am in about late 1998.

F and J are different, though the differences are pretty subtle (and fairly technical)

There are, as thegeek says, slight differences. For example, the top colour bars are different.

That sounds like Victor Lewis-Smith's "Test Card E" joke from TV Offal.

Yes, very odd return there, flickering between TCJ and N24! But we're back - and that about wraps it up.

I didn't stay up all night, I usually fall asleep by the time BBC1 finishes the test anyway, but I recorded the tests. On my tape, there's a clean cut back to N24 for a few seconds (long enough for you to think they've completely finished), then a messy jump back to TCJ and back to N24 again after another few seconds. Is this how it happened everywhere else? My signal comes from Mendip.
