Same in London (obviously!) but Ceefax still appears to be on air here in London - I wonder what will happen on BBC2 Digital if they cut the teletext signal during these tests (as they have done in the past) on analogue, as isn't the generator just an off air receiver tuned to page 152?

Ceefax (London) is always left on these tests. Whatever region you are watching defaults to London as that is what is being rebroadcast.

I'm a failure. I've been watching these tests since 2001 and this is the first one I missed the start of.

How did BBC2 opt in to TCJ?

Nice dirty testcard up here in Sheffield. I'm gonna blame my antenna though - took me 10 minutes to even get a picture this good!

Sudden cut to a black screen a few seconds after 2:30 followed by the rebroadcast testcard appearing. As dull as it could be really from our point of view.

Looks pretty much the same in belmont land, noticeably brighter than when from the direct link.

Yeah, I know about that - but I'm pretty sure last year when they had "Test Card Fax" (which I think only London got) the whole Ceefax signal was removed except two pages - but maybe that was only on BBC One.

Is Ceefax page 198 normally there? I've got a page saying ENGINEERING TEST PAGE which I don't remember seeing on Ceefax before.

In Scotland (Craigkelly) the test card didn't appear till around 2.45am. Straight to J with a speaking clock.

And looking on Ceefax it appears that we're seeing London's Ceefax service (albeit with flickering and occasional mentioning of an engineering test page).

And as I post this I've got no signal at all. Completely blank.

Found the old thread detailing all this. Beats trying to remember at 3am. Smile

Now colour bars with the word 'DUNDEE' on it. How exciting...

Can you provide a capture of those Dundee colour bars, Ant?

Yup. Took this on a phone so I apologise for the quality:

Now back to a very fuzzy J on Craigkelly.
