I know this doesnt fit in But I HAVE SEEN TESTCARD B!! FULLY!!!
And I've held Test Card C on 16mm film.
Anyhow, I've heard mutterings of the RBS tests taking place early in the morning of January 5th (as Learning Zone will be on its Christmas break), and featuring Test Card J.
Will 2007s Trade Test be the last seieng as we're going Digital in 2008?
Only a bit of the country, the rest of us will still be watchng analogue
It's an interesting point though... As DSO gets underway, and analogue transmitters are progressively switched off, surely the RBS system will cease to work, as in many cases there won't be neighbouring analogue transmitters to switch to.
BBC2 will not be simulcasting News 24 overnight in the fortnight betwen 23 Dec-05 Jan, according the Radio Times. This will mean downtime of up to 4 1/2 hours. And mercifully, BBC2 won't be going through the night again on New Year's Eve.
Sadly this could be a sweetner for Ceefax fans; between Tues 2-Fri 5 January, BBC2 is scheduled to start at 6am rather than the current 7am (the extra hour filled by repeats). With everything else returning to normal on Tues 2, it looks like the final Ceefax AM will be broadcast on Friday 22 December.
Last year's RBS tests had a couple of surprises - one already mentioned was the speaking clock over the tone - and the other was the complete loss of Ceefax with it being replaced by "Test Card Fax" - a creation of a certain Barney Wol apparently!

Whether you saw "Test Card Fax" depended on where you lived. It wasn't broadcast here.
Did you still get normal Ceefax?
We got Test Card Fax in Bristol, but I didn't see it at the time. I was taping the test, and managed to get a bit of it to show up from VHS later the next day, but mangled as you'd expect.
Does anyone out there know when the next scheduled engineering test on BBC1 and BBC2 will take place? I'm led to believe it's in January or February 2007, and I want to video it, in order to see what happens.
