Once again I jump for joy in Homer Simpson style: Whoohoo!

Long live the BBC1 Balloons (and all who fly in her, lol).

What is it you like, the visuals or the music?

I like the 2's, but I'm not so keen on the balloons, i preferred the COW, although that does look dated now... I think Sky are heading back to group continutiy... see the new idents/logos for Sky Travel and Sky News... and don't forget my BBC Nine! lol! Smile

Sky Travel's new ident has been in use for ages now. Sky News is corporate too, true, but I think the new logos will resemble the 1993 set - corporate Sky logo, but individual style of writing for channel name. Unfortunately, I don't know any sites with the entire 1993 set on, but Sky Travel's 1994 ident is their first and best ever, IMHO. (Travel launched in 1994, along with Sky Soap!)

I like the 'Balloon Viewed from Under The Water' one they made for the new David Attenborough show The Blue Planet, that one looks excellent!

I guess the balloons will stay at least until Blue Planet finishes. That ident was also used for Last Night of the Proms.

I think the Last Night of the Proms one was probably so that it was a quiet plug for Blue Planet.

Also, they might have a had a big Rule-Britannia ident planned but couldn't use it cos of how the Americans overran Last Night of the Proms this year

I suppose they could've used one filmed in London? I think it was probably a plug. After all, it was the first use of that ident.

It wasn't! I'm pretty sure it had been used in the daytime in the week or two before.

... and who knows, you people in Yorkshire and Lancashire may even get your own branded symbols.

If you mean to replace the balloons, they did do that during the mirror era, but it's unlikely nowadays.
