BBC1 Balloon idents

Does anyone know who composed the music for the balloon idents?

In that case, well done Mr Sawyer for composing such lovely pieces of music.

Shame there do not appear any good quality examples of these particular pieces outside of the L-N snippets, which may I say are cut criminally short for my tastes!

Phil no longer appears to be with Amber Music - he's been taken off their website. However, I did come across www.philsawyermusic.com - is this him?

the balloon should have stayed a lot longer than it did it should come back to BBC1 It would fit with the circle theam

I still don;t get teh concept of the circle

is it teh Fact that BBC One: O is circle that how it connects?

Don't forget before the globe, BBCtv had a circle logo with the map of the UK in the circle.

do you think we will ever se the balloon re-launch on tv the bbc should know it was the most popular tv ident and should have brought it back

The theme of circle was here BEFORE the globe ident was even invented.

See the bat-eyed ident the BBC made first, it looks like circle, dosen't it....

these circle idens are boring and limited only 8 idents the point im trying to make is that the balloon was a bbc one icon that was seen in 50 or more variations so it was much better i think they should have kept using the balloon as the icon just made new idents

There are more idents on the way for BBC One. It can only launch with so many idents at a time.
