BBC1 Ballet Ident

To introduce the BBC news special on the tragic death of the Pope, BBC1 finally showed us Ballet again. I'm glad I captured it, because it was played in all its glory with full audio, unlike 3 years ago with the death of the Queen mother.

Crikey, they even showed it into MOTD - I expected it to be shown more rarely. Great to see it back.

Suprised to see it myself, I thought they had totally withdrawn the ident.

No. It's another Heggessey success. It's only to be used in time of "National Reflection". For heaven sake why not have a clock. Its simply yet effective and doesn't need to be dug up every time theres a big news story.
Anyway this new man coming into BBC One apparently "loathes" the dancers (Sounds like he has some sense) So maybe we can get some new pres, preferably not costing 45k an ident and throwing the license fee down the drain.

The last time I saw the Ballet Ident was for the 10 O' Clock News on the first anniversary of September 11th.

It was used on network into the funeral of Wacky Ronald Reagan.

It was also used before they announced the death of the queen mother

Yes, the day after the idents were introduced. That's how Ballet became The Dance Of DEATH.
