Interesting cock-up on BBC1 just now in London. We got the regional LDN ident into the news (Acrobats) and they obviously opted in to the network too early and we got the Capoeira network ident with the same announcer! (Dean Lydiate I think it is).

Oh.
My region have opted out too late loads of times and gone back early too. Its annoying seeing Capoeira before the start of acrobats.
The BBC are no better than ITV then. They're as bad as each other, and probably explains why America uses affiliates instead of our system of regional opts.

That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation isn't it? All the BBC nations and regions are responsible for opting themselves, so just because one area goes back a few frames early doesn't mean the rest of the country does!

Of course yes, it's got nothing to do with ownership, licensing and historical reasons........ Americas TV networks are set up like that so that the viewer doesn't see a second or 2 of something they shouldn't every so often!
