Last night on the continuity junction after River City, the announcer on BBC1 started with "Now on BBC2 Scotland..... no wait that can't be right.... now on BBC1 Scotland".

Wouldn't have noticed that myself, but unfortunately it got nationwide exposure this afternoon when Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who had been watching River City (he likes it, gawd knows why), recorded the offending junction and played it.

There's something endearing about Radio 1 DJs. They're on the coolest station in the country but are secret anoraks. Scott Mills watches BBC One Scotland and plays out the continuity. Chris Moyles loves talking about watching different BBC regions via Sky and anything and everything corporate. I love that!

Must admit I was quite surprised to plug my earphones in on the way home tonight and hear him say "Now I know you lot in Scotland have your own announcer..." and then hear the Bollywood ident music blaring out!

Heard Chappers on a trail during Scott Mills' stint on the breakfast show talking about when he was an announcer on BBC Two and would always ruin it for sci-fi fans by introducing their shows explaining the whole plotline - simply because he didn't know what was going on in them!
