It's broadcast in analogue, therefore if have kept your analogue receiver and have got a 60cm dish, then all you have to do is point it to Hotbird, and BBC World is on it.
I think there is a FTA transmission on Digital, but's it on a totally different satellite and I don't know it unfortunately!

I was watching BBC World this afternoon, and it was working quite nicely. The alternate Windows Media stream address is:
AFAIK, BBC World audio AND video can be accessed with a BROADBAND connection. Those with DIAL-UP can access only audio. But I think you can still watch it with dial-up.

Yes I can watch via QuickTime, but the audio one (mms://216.106.166.205/v2/onair/BBC/BBCworld_100k.asf) via WMP isn't working for me. However, the 300KB version (mms://216.106.166.141/v2/onair/BBC/BBCworld_300k.asf) does work via WMP. Can anyone explain this? I can't listen to the 300KB one, as it cuts off and starts rebuffering every few seconds!

Rob, are you on broadband or dial-up internet?
If its only available for broadband that has to be the best point for having it!
