Did anyone notice that when Chris Lowe and Anna Jones were on last night (3rd Nov) about 10pm-ish, Chris was reading the headlines and the music that normally underpins the headlines, suddenly stopped and was replaced by some trance music ? I can't remember what music exactly but I'm sure I've heard it somewhere before.

I'm not joking!! If only I had my video running. That's definitely what happened !

I really wouldnt worry about all of this. Neither N24 or World are getting revamped (at least any time soon). All that has happened is that a game of 'musical studios' has taken place this weekend, while the N24 studio is given a bit of a rest (its just knackered!). And also the World studio is seen fairly regularly on N24 anyway - World News every morning at 9.30 and on the odd overnight shift also.

Funny moment yesterday at 5 - Philip Hayton: 'this is BBC News twen.... (abrupt stop) I'm Philip Hayton'! Smile

Also - today:

Well, we all need toilet breaks!

The real reason that they've de-camped to the other studio is (and I've just realised this) is because there is work going on at TV Centre to start repairs on the bomb damage at the front of the building. The work is noisy and News 24 is in the front bit.

A new temporary reception enterance has also been put in this weekend

How long has Maxine Mawinney or whatever they call her, been on BBC News (24) today?
I keep turning over every now and then, and shes been there all afternoon!
Has there been programmes in the back half hour during Maxine's shift, or news straight through?

That's part of the reason. They are also taking the oppotunity to update the software which runs the channel as well as relight the set and to finally get rid of the buzz on the guests microphone!!!

Maxine does 1-7 on Sunday and the 9 -1 on monday. A grand total of 10 hours live broadcasting in one day. This must be some kind of record.

Not quite right I'm afraid. She does Saturday 0900-1300, Sunday 1300-1900 and Monday 1300-1600 (with Bill Turnbull).

I saw Maxine (acting a lot more relaxed) on Breakfast for the first time ever last week (with Bill Turnbull).
