I'm missing the World Newsroom too! It has more of a feel to it that News 24's especially with the Newsroom so in shot.

As far as I know all the bulbs on the News24 set were replaced during the weekend. As you say the set was given a through clean, the equipment causing the buzz on some of the mics was located and removed and a major upgrad of the software was acomplished.

Yes, I agree, if you could see News 24's newsroom, it would be much better - its lacking that on the set, but thats the only thing! However, I did find the newsroom on World a little distracting, but I would rather have that than plain red walls, at least its a little livlier. I also like the way you can see the output suite/gallery on BBC World, as its situated in the newsroom. BBC World really is a neat operation. Everything you could see there, the gallery, newsroom, and news set, is BBC World News!! Unlike other parts of BBC News, where its spread out a bit, BBC World is really together, as far as I've seen. I think the presenters actually look better in the World studio - the lighting seems to be different somehow. The News 24 studio is very bright in comparison - I like them both though!!

The desks behind the presenters are where the journalists edit the clips they play out on the channel. The computers are part of the digital editing system

A question for those who work in the BBC. What do the computers do behind the news presenters in the News 24 studio? I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but I've always wondered why they were there!
