Has the desk actually been changed then?
If so, can anyone please do a cap for those of us who don't watch BBC World? (and yes, I know I could watch/video TWT, but I'd still like a cap). Ta.

The set needs more lights, well switch on the newsroom lights at least! and that white red transparent desk, it just looks out of place with the rest of BBC News, the BBC, they never quite get it right!

No, the main desk at BBC World hasn't been changed - it's the BBC Four set which is changing over Christmas. This set is opposite the main N9 set.

I think harshy jumped from talking about World to News 24 in the same sentence - firstly saying that World looks too dark, and that the new N24 desk doesn't fit in with anything else.
Personally, I think the World set is still suitable - it is quite flexible, as there isn't too much red or cream in the surroundings with it being right in the middle of a newsroom - most of the background is black, with it showing the gallery.

Oh I see. So (presumably) harshy was talking about an N24-style desk in the new BBC4 news set? Or have I lost it completely?
I hope the BBC4 set isn't too bright like N24, because a darker, more sombre look seems to me to fit its style.

Yeah, but the side bit needs updating. It's cream with the old screen.

Hi guys just to clarify my points, as my comments have been misunderstood, what I meant about the World set, is it does look a little dark, and noticed the newsroom lights are never switched on for some reason, and about the desk, I meant the N24 desk should be on the main BBC World News set as well so it fit's in with the rest of BBC News.
I hope this clears it up.
thanks

The reason why the newsroom looks darker than the set is because it is only lit with office lighting, not studio lights, like the ones above the desk.

Yep the lights i'm talking about are the circle ones in this photo, I think BBC World should switch these lights on again, it would make the background more brighter IMHO
