Would anyone agree that the lighting or video level (I can't tell which) of the BBCW presenter shot seems darker than everything else in the last few hours?... I actually assumed at first that a bulb had gone and would be replaced between bulletins but it has stayed this way!.. It definitely seems darker than reports & other programmes.

I've found it very dark of late but I always thought it may just be me getting used to the very bright new News 24 studio.

I've been away from the UK for a few days, and noticed when I returned tonight, that the studio looks very dark, compared to what I was watching abroad. I put it down to going back to digital from analogue HotBird, or a fault with my TV, but seeing this thread has cleared that up!

Well the BBC Four set has now been removed, so maybe it knocked a few lights around during the removal

And no one bothers to fix them? Does the BBC actually WATCH any of its output? It seems not.

But where will BBC Four News come from until the new set is finished?

It is usually taken off air over the Christmas period, or at least it was last year.

And it has been this year too.

The new set is further forward then the previous set, so some of the lighting has been reset and the opening shot has been adjusted.

The new set will make it's debut on Monday 5th January

The new opening shot just looks weird now, what is to the right hand side of the opening shot, is it the backside of the new BBC Four News studio or something?

The set needs more lights, well switch on the newsroom lights at least! and that white red transparent desk, it just looks out of place with the rest of BBC News, the BBC, they never quite get it right! Rolling Eyes

No, the BBC Four set is "behind" the opening camera shot (or at least it was) - to the right of the shot is the side of the newsroom and the Sport Today set.
