BBC World Mourning theme used

Another BBC World Special on News 24 and BBC World at 17.00 BST, with Gavin live from Washington again. Only this time the last bar of the BBC WORLD Special/Mourning theme was used with pictures from NY in the background which then faded to a BBC World Special endboard (with ©MMI at the bottom) which stayed there for about 10 seconds with the vamp accompanying. We then dissolved into the N24 studio with Liz and Matthew.

First time I've heard this music on TV.

Was it actually the sombre music or the special music, as they are very different.

They are having another special from World too at 9 with Gavin - but no special opening music

It was the sombre music yes. The 1:35min one - with the low-pitched pips. It was a very moving short piece of film.
