BBC WORLD Countdown

It's already started. But's it's off again. Sounds familiar in a way.

Oh wait. Just like this forum. On for 5mins. Off for 6hours.!

Haha, bit of a bumpy ride this evening wasn't it!!

I keep saying it...and one day it'll happen but the hosts are going to move the sites to the new servers! Honest

Well they haven't used the new countdown since 2pm BST, so I don't know whats going on!

I dare say it was played out in error!

As for the idents, even if they go at the top of the hour, they'll still be on when another programme is on thats not on the hour. Eg, :30, :15 :10.

So I don't think its quite the end, yet.

Well, I give it one final check before TWT.

But why bother, the channel is broadcast in mono!

Well I'm not particularly impressed with this one. Why did they change it? I really liked the old look! But if they were to change it, why not, as Asa says, make a completely new arrangement!

Does anyone know if any viewers have mentioned anything about it yet?

The countdown music isnt the same as news 24, its remixed, it has a fast paced BBC World beat in some arreas, and the BBC World sort of Shuffling sound in others.

I miss trying to download BBC content whilst TV Home.co.uk isn't working! But I think they should keep the old countdown.

Although the new countdown clock has already been on air, it wasn't set in stone.

As from this Thursday however, it is hoped it will be a permanent fixture if all systems are go

Oh right! I'll have to keep an eye out for it on Thursday.

I think it is a better idea to have a countdown that actually goes up to the hour, rather than the old countdown and ident.

Anyway, nothing beats DWTV up to the hour. :

12 GMT (13 BST) is when it will start going out Tomorrow (27.09.01). There will be no announcements over the countdown.

Will it be the full countdown andy?  Someone please get the tape recorder ready!!
