Hi all,

Apologies if this has been post already, I have been away for the last couple of weeks, and having a quick scan through all the topics could not see this already posted.

Just been looking on the BBC World website to see what was happening about this CD Single and the following details are under the Hot Question section!

'Q: I like the music used during the breaks on BBC World when items of news and information appear in text. Is it available to buy?

A: Since it's launch in April 2000, we've never stopped answering enquiries about our 'break filler' music. It was clear our viewers liked this music and wanted more!
We've been working with the composer and BBC Music and a cd single is currently in production. We hope it will be ready during December 2001. Details will be posted on the front page of bbcworld.com when it is available for sale.

The single will contain three new tracks based on the BBC World music, along with a mix of the original version. It will cost £5 plus postage.

(It will be sold by mail order only, and payment will only be accepted by Visa or Mastercard credit cards.) '

So it looks like it will be here very soon
Very Happy

Can't wait to see what the 3 new tracks are like...hopefully won't have to wait too long

I was wondering when I was going to hear about that! First they said it would be released by October, but I e-mailed them and it had been put back further. So at least we now know the score! Looking forward to its release!

Lets get the BBC to release a video of all the classic 1991-2001 2s! The 2001 ones suck! We love the 2s! Burn the Purple box and that yellow monstrocity!

I couldn't agree more with you harshy! At 2.00pm today there was a BBC News special, where the BBC World sound gallery was doing the music, so they used the BBC World headline bed, which sounded fantastic. Then at 5.00pm just now, it was News 24s turn, and they played that bloody awful News 24 headline bed and it sounded terrible! Why do they insist in this Headline bed. GET RID OF IT!

Was there a special tonight at 5pm? If there was, I can't belive it! All week I've watched at 5pm for a special, and its just been Matthew and Jane as usual! Then the one night I don't watch...! Why are they just deciding to do a special now and then? Whats the point at 2pm as well? Surely its not a high peak viewing time!

Yes there was a special on News 24 at 5.00pm with Lyse! It was only on for 20 minutes, and then opting back to London.

Blimey its all been happening with presenters this week on News 24! Chris Eakin replaced Philip Hayton this morning, so Phil could move to Bill's usual slot with Valerie Sanderson. Gavin Esler and Carrie Gracie have been alternating since Tuesday, giving John Nicholson, Carol Walker and Mike Embley a chance on News 24!!

I've noticed John Nicholson has been given a bit more of a permanant slot on News 24 - he has been doing the 1300-1600 slot on a Monday and on a Friday (when Bill is on Brekkie).

Yep, Carrie's doing the 11.00pm - 0100 am shift today! Quite strange seeing her doing this shift again. As it was quite a while ago when she did it last.
