Never seen this happen before, but whilst watching the 1900 CET bulletin on BBC World, it appeared to stutter then fall off the air, to be replaced with a still of the BBC News logo and some text "We apologise for the loss of this programme, we will resume shirtly" Or words to that effect. The music playing appeared to be taken from the old Breakfiller, very subtle, nice. Anyone seen this before.
There was no apology from Lyse as we rejoined the programme.

It wasn't a problem with N9 - it looked more like a fault at Presentation. Lyse had thrown into the commercial break, but no breakfiller appeared. After a few seconds, as you said, a still apology caption came up. That went off, then a moving one with the menu music (that's been World's breakdown music track since 2000) appeared. We went straight back into the news after about a minute and a half - that's why I doubt it was a problem with news, and N9 probably wouldn't have known about it.
I often see this kind of problem. I guess they have a problem on the Dynamic Junction or its related things. Sometimes it doesn't start playing when break begins, and they replace by VCR or something quickly after blackout. They often overlap a telop manually at the bottom of screen.
The link html doesnt seem to work, you can play the file in Real player as it is taken using my phone you see.
You mean to say you lot are getting excited over a breakdown that lasted just nine seconds - if so, all I can say is: For the love of God.
If you only caught nine seconds of something longer, then you need to be much quicker next time :-p
As I said in my earlier post - it lasted for the length of the break, given that it was a fault at Presentation, which means it was about 1min 30secs in total.
I caught most of it (more than 9 seconds at least), so I'll encode it and upload it tomorrow.
Speaking of breakdowns, it was around this time four years ago in the height of Euro 2000 in which the BBC suffered that infamous big breakdown which took the BBC in London right off the air and took News 24 and entire evening and overnight to get back to normal.

Happy days seeing that Testcard on News 24!
And put Pebble Mill in charge for a few hours too !

Now again due to technical problem. At the moment they're broadcasting different programs (Holiday Snaps) twice instead of news.

As a result they couldn't broadcast whole of the news. They started
to play Panorama.
