What nonsense. It's not a private link for a collective few to know about. The URL would eventually be made available to everyone else and regardless of whether the Beeb do find it out, it'll disappear and another one will appear a few months down the line.

Asa is right it is not a private link, but it is a link that perhaps only a few have been privvie to. I have known of this link for some months and have been have been enjoying BBC World whilst living in Paris, without english based news.

We all know how the story goes. BBC World will find out who is streaming the channel and will close it down. The BBC have a deal with Real ONE to stream its channel to those who want to pay for it. Posting links on public websites such as tvforum will only accelarate the closng down process. So from someone who spent a long time finding the link, thanks very much for making it public...........NOT!

You are contradicting yourself!

I knew about this link before and its good that more people can share it.

It's 'insider' knowledge like this that makes the TVF so great...

We can only hope they don't close it but if they do, then they do.

Perhaps, the posts could be altered a little so that people can request it via PM instead... I'll gladly provide the link if someone asks and I'm on here almost every hour Smile

It is rediculous. No better than Elektric Media and his "I'm allowed to have this library music, but you're not..." gang.

So what? The link has been published on an internet forum. What's it bloody there for? Perhaps I should set up a stream of BBC World for you all, but I won't tell anyone except myself, and that way the BBC won't close me down. Rolling Eyes

It's really not all that exciting anyway. And News room, you are in Paris, which unless I missed that rush through bill in the house of commons, is not part of the UK - and thus you should be able to get BBC World by subscribing through RealOne or by dealing with your local satellite or cable TV operator. TPS is very competitive, I suggest you get in contact with them.

Just to say, Watching BBC World on the internet all day is not a hobby i wish to adopt. Plus im not part of the "secret society."My point is that why would you make something private become public. I was not aware of this feed until i read the postings and if it goes offline, so be it. It doesnt bother me.

and err... why should it not be kept private?? something is far better benefitng a few people well that not benefiting anyone at all. the stream will no doubt slow down and be closed totally because of the big mouths of a few members.

Because then we have a two tier TVF, where some members get more benefit from the TVF and related TV resources than others who don't have the info...

I'm sure this would be different if one of us 'lower tier' members had some insider info you wanted to know about but the source did not [want anyone to know]... I'm sure you'd welcome their 'big mouth's' with open arms...

I mean, if that's the way you view it, 90% of the members may as well not exist (if you're not even willing to share your information with them and want to keep them out of the loop) so there'll bo nobody to read your 3000-odd posts.

Well if someone finds something, or obtains the stream - its only fair that person decides whos they give it to. Now that access will pobably be closed down for everyone just because someone was worried that they we were loosing out Rolling Eyes

its ridiculous - thats the equivalent of Britian giving the whole of the EU its oil & gas reserves just because the other EU members don't have access to that resource otherwise - No matter how silly the EU is, its not that stupid and based on your ideals psnowden, thank god.

If I didnt have the stream and I knew someone else did, I wouldn't want it closed down just because I can't use it! Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I didn't suggest that the information should only benefit a priviledged few, I suggested that it shouldn't have been shunted on the board for the world to see, it should have been announced that a stream was available and the link to it sent via PM or email.
