Hello everybody,

When I was scrutinizing the BBC NEWS 24-thread, the one before the revamp, I found a link to a live-stream of BBC WORLD, which someone placed in a reaction. As I don't have BBC WORLD, I live outside the United Kingdon and our cable supplier is too stupid to add BBC WORLD to the standard package of channels, I cannot watch WORLD normally. But with that link I can.

Now, what I wanted to ask: how do you people get such link to a stream? And are there more of them? In higher quality for example?

Thank you in advance.

Fantastic Very Happy
And high quality stream too Smile

Hmmm...on second thoughts I'm getting some intermittent framerate problems where I'm getting about 1fps.
Then it runs smoothly for a while...

Maybe I should just play with my buffering settings.

I'm getting the same problem. Generally fine though. Might I suggest though that it's better to exchange urls to streams through PMs or email rather than directly posting them on the forum - the beeb have a vested interest in closing down streams like these (presumably because they have a deal with Real to stream it as a paid for service) and their job is only made easier if urls to them are posted on public websites.

I'm having problems, It opens - buffers - looks to download a codec and then says error downloading codec. Just my luck!

Any ideas?

EDIT: WOW, I fixed it - just by downloaded the WM9 codec pack - cool!!!
The picture is good, the sound is a bit sharp but hey - I'm watching BBC World!

Oh great - just what we need. An exclusive world stream that only a few people know the URL too gets dished out on a forum so everyone knows about it - now what's going to happen: the already throttled bandwidth (and you wonder why it's slow?) of donga will be throttled further, and it will become even slower - heck, donga (or, of course, the BBC) might even realize and close down the stream, as it's not supposed to be accessible apart from designated countries.

Basically, exactly the same thing that happened to the last BBC WOrld stream will happen again Rolling Eyes
