I think your lineup has too many The World Today programmes.

I dont really understand why the news is called "The World Today" and not just BBC News. What really distinguishes that broadcast from an ordinary "BBC News on BBC World" programme?

To be honest, I'd do away with "programmes" altogether, and do rolling news from the London newsroom.

The regional programmes were/are/always will be an excellent idea...but I'd host them out of both the London and regional studios -- like the BBC World News that's hosted by both the London and Washington studios.

Don't axe the non-news programmes though. The actually draw in more audience than news does by itself.

Ok let me explain it .In the simple BBC NEWS panel= 30minutes,we had around 15 minutes news+around 5 minutes of business and another 5 for sport. So that's pretty enough for us to "get sense of the news"BUT you need some more analysis.Take the world today now.You have almost 20 minutes dedicated for news= more time= more......whatever you want
Of course you can call it as you want but i think the World today is the right one, just because you'll have...........let's say it so 30 minutes bbc world news+15 minutes WBR+15 minutes sport today so these 3 all forme The world today panel .Having more TWTs means more business(so they can partly compete with CNBC.Of course it's not a financial channel, but you know, nowadays we have the economy ruling the policy, and"demanding broader view" means more business and sport too. This new programme scheme will move BBC WORLD closer to a rolling news channel.Talking money, you know the news is the best place to advertise,so more news=more advertisments=more money

Just to ask you why do you want the regional programmes hosted from LDN+the location?
My idea was ,as you saw one programme to be hosted exactly from the location. There are so many reporters, that are under used, and another one with the main anchor from the world newsroom. There is something very interesting.Having studied media systems I cannot miss a very important thing which makes US medias "better"than the european ones. They have a main anchor for each programme. So you(the viewer)are sure that you'll get the right man at the right time. That's the reason i made those presesnter shifts. You noticed the presenters rotate on a weekly base.

Talking about non-news programmes(lifestyle programmes)all these will be moved to the weekend. And donot forget we have BBC prime, which aim is just that lifestyle programming
We need BBC WORLD to be more newsy channel, and those TWTs+the regional programmes will target this.More news, more analysis.........just to show CNNi,FOXnews,MSNBC.etc.that there is another world outside US
