Well, you'll be pleased to know that BBC World viewers will also be able to watch the UK general election as well!

But it's not the same programme as on BBC1 and N24 - it'll be a BBC World special with Nik Gowing and Martine Dennis.

What time will the special programmes be shown at on BBC World? Does anyone know?

I haven't heard about anything special when it comes to the election on any of the US channels. In the last elections though the news networks had special programming -- so I'd assume there would be something.
And with the similcast of World on BBC America and PBS I assume that we would just get whatever World is broadcasting -- in this case, the election coverage. There is a very slight possibility that BBC America may just link-up to World for the entire election coverage (or part of it) - but I don't think that is very likely.

Never mind -- just found this on America's website!
The UK general election takes place on June 7th.
The BBC America television channel will be airing continuous election coverage starting at 6 PM EST and ending 4 AM EST.
I assume this is BBC World's coverage…
I'm soooo excited! I know what I'll be watching! (and I'll try to record it so when I get my TV card I can capture it…)

It'll be interesting to see if BBC World use the normal studio or a special studio!
I think News 24 should broadcast the programme that will be going out on World! Any viewer that had News 24 has BBC ONE. Whats the point of simulcasting it when its accessable to all UK viewers (Don't say cost cutting, they are making a second programme! Why not use it?)
World caters for non-UK viewers. It gives a world perspective, even on events like a UK Election. Although it would be great for presentation reasons, most people would turn to over coverage because it's just no relavent.
I take it that BBC One Election coverage will have opt outs for regional updates, what will happen on News24, will they have something like UK Today or go back to the News24 studio for other news ?
