none of you seem to have noticed that the right-hand side of the studio now has a monitor to itself! this means that business and sports can be presented with the monitor from that side of the studio, unlike previously when, in programmes such as World Business Report and Sport Today, the presenter would take the place of the news anchor of that moment, thus making it difficult to move quickly into any breaking news story. much better, i must say...though the desk is a mess!

BBCPrime, the new plasma was mentioned on page one of this thread.

Anyway, just seen the new joint breakfast programme (with an original programme title!), and has a lot of potential - except some of the graphics look a little cramped - info burst style.

The remixed music for titles and vamps etc. is fresher, and whilst remains faithful to the original, is IMO much better.  More strings, bigger bass line and a heart beat rhythum.  And as for more remixes coming early next year.... I couldn't possibly comment Smile)

TWT starts Monday.  Get those VCR's warmed up.

Yeap they have, but it's way too high - the Sport/Biz Presenter has to really crane their necks to view the screen. Doesn't look like a comfortable position for the Presenter.

Also, the 'extra' piece of newsroom you can see on the Plasma shots of the main presenter is a sheet of mirrored plastic - you can see the ripples in it if you look closely. So watch out for people walking around with banners saying 'HELLO MUM' and appearing back to front!!

From a HSE perspective, there is LOTS wrong with the new set and looks like it's breaking so many regulations.

Just spotted another from the pictures posted around here... How on earth do they get a disabled person on and off the set? There is absolutely no room for someone with crutches to easily get on & off!

I suspect you will see a few changes over the next few weeks. I'm surprised the HSE and BBC Safety people have allowed this to go ahead in the first place!

Despite all the little things wrong with the set, I think it's a great, quite different studio with a cool new desk and a general freshen up. I think all the studios need to be updated every so often to keep them up to date.

Well I think News 24 should be changed to be like BBC World.

How strong is that glass between the to desks? It only takes one careless person!

What is the point of that gap in the first place?

Personally I think they've done it for The World Today. The news presenter sits on the left and the Business on the right (at the start of the programme). So it looks better to have the desk divided, into two.
