Wow - that desk is very...er...interesting! I think it looks pretty good, actually, although I agree that the plasma screens are a bit high up compared to the presenter - makes them look like midgets!

So what else has changed well has anybody noticed the side shot (I do recall a complaint about the unused wall) with a what I suspect is a CSO, now how do I know this? Because I saw the BBC News screensaver the other way round as you would see it in a mirror in fact it may be a mirror!!
The whole desk has been raised and an extra Plasma screen has been installed (I have dreamt about this happening for ages) and two extra monitor banks have been installed on the wall. There is also a mic on the desk that does stick about a bit.

I can honestly say that I feel News 24 would benefit from such a studio. The desk would be brilliant!! Also, while they're renevating we'd get true BBC World!!

Who said that they would?

Just looking at those pics now, I think they should bring the top down camera in a bit at the beggining and end of the program, it looks too distant for my liking.

Just anouther observation (if obvious) they installed strip uplighters underneath the plasma's, now thats cool!

I have to say, I never really liked the old World studio -- but it looks MUCH better now -- and it does look a lot bigger…

Whats the gap in the middle of the desk? Is it for someone to crawl under without being seen on camera?! Wink

I don't suppose anyone could get a real player thingy of the news headlines at the top of the hour with the new look, and post it here, could they?

I can see I'm going to have to get my measuring tape out!

I don't think there's enough gap between the chairs and the railings should there be a fire!

Imagine Anita McNaught's hair combusting. Thousands of pounds worth of improvments could be made! (her hair is often the topic of discussion with the boys & gals of World Pres.)
