I have been looking for the BBC World sports today headline bed for a while and am still unsuccessful. So does anyone have it yet?

Also I heard a piece of music used on BBC World months ago, where before the top of the hour they played special music which allowed viewers see what was coming up in the next few hours, and I was also wondering if anyone has that also?

If you do have any of these, the PLEASE let me know!!!

Do you mean the Advert Filler ?

See the BBC World section of TV Home

No it's definately not the advert filler. Apparently it's music which is not used very often, but I liked it!

the music you probably heard was the music used when there is either a problem or gap in the schedule. it usually shows what is coming up and is only seen if there is a gap to fill due to a program finishing early and theres nothing to show. your lucky to see it as it happens very rarely. its basically a back up screen so that you dont just get a blank screen.

I've posted this before, so apologies for the repeat.

The static menu is put to air for several reasons.  Firstly during breakdowns, which is quite rare.  But sometimes the breakfiller doesn't work properly, so a menu is cut to air.  The other problem is that sometimes the information on the breakfiller is incorrect, or out of date - various reasons for this - breaking news etc.  So the static menu is put to air sometimes just to cover a particular section of the breakfiller, eg news or coming up.  If this happens, then the audio from the breakfiller still goes out.  If a static menu is cut to air when the breakfiller is not running, then there is a minidisc of breakfiller music to play.

However, there is a moving menu background with it's own music.  I have never seen it go out - not saying it hasn't, but I am surprised as it is not the easiest thing to cue up if things are going wrong, and not the first thing I would go to if things aren't running to plan.

BTW, I do have both sport Today, and the menu music. Can't share though Sad   Sorry.

Did you say the breakfiller breaks down rarely, you were joking weren't you, I have just witness two cock ups tonight on BBC World News, first they cut to the wrong report after playing five seconds of the right report, and then playing in the break sting, they went to a stillshot of a report, leaving Phillip Hayton rather bemused, also can't anything be done about the headlines bed on BBC World News in the middle of the programme, it's still too low and inconsistant.

What you refer to has nothing to do with the Break Filler.

The Break filler is provided by Presentation beneath adverts, what you describe was provided by News. Probably an automation problem
