BBC Weather presenters

In the early days of News 24 it had a very informal style as a channel - the male presenters didn't wear suit jackets, the weather maps were orange, the studio was made of coloured glass.

Soon after it all went rather formal, and perhaps Dan's name had to follow suit.

You've got me thinking actually, whilst on the subject. I always remember in the early days of News 24, Dan seemed to stand a lot closer to the camera so you tended to see him from the chest up, rather than the thighs up. Dare I say, it made him seem a little scary at times!

In a contest with the ITV weather team, who would win?? (ITV presenters are trained meteorlogists right?)

You have got to be joking. Martyn Davies is a trained meteorologist, but I think he's the only one. Sian Lloyd and Chrissie Reidy certainly aren't.

Neither is Robin Lermitte, he was an actor until 2002.

I see that the BBC Weather Website now has a new look...

Sian Lloyd is. I remember her saying she gets really angry when people say she isn't. I hope she isn't listening...

The weather site is still inconsitant.

The world weather has a orange look and the Sports weather has the old beige look.

Glad to see they are using the proper [B][B][C] WEATHER logo!

Well on ' It shouldn't happen to a weather forecaster ' she said she isn't a meteorologist, and I watched it just a few days ago, and the narrator clearly says she is not a meteorologist. She talked about going in, in the morning and being briefed by a meteorologist about the weather.

So I'm confused - is she or isn't she ?

She is categorically not a trained metereoleoeogloigist.

Anyone watch the Six and notice the lack of banner (grey thing at bottom showing time/day etc) on the screen during the weather update at 6:25?

I always had a soft spot for Carol Kirkwood - even when she was on the weather channel. I don't think it would be possible to have anyone more enthusiastic in the mornings!

Dan Corbett was really good on the old news 24 ( when i actually watched the channel!)

I always get the feeling the itv national weather forecast is just an excuse to have something sponsered. The forecasts seem to have got much shorter and theres only 4 presenters. The worst has to be the itv news channel - the ad takes longer than the forecast - and its the same one for 6 hours at a time! At least the bbc update they'res.

Can any bbc female presenters beat chrissie and sian ridiculous weather hands - it's like someones told them to pretend to be weather presenters - way over the top!
