Personally I'm a fan of Isobel Lang - but where has she gone?? she is still on the BBC weather site, but we haven't seen her for ages.

She was on BBC4 weather last night.

The last I heard is that she was pregnant, or was that Sophie Raworth. I think it was. When is she to return?

It was quite strange because a few days ago I asked the exact same question - where were Sarah Wilmshurst, Isobel Lang and Helen Young ?, and suddenly their all back. They must all have been on maternity leave at the same time.

I like Helen Young, but the others are good too. I actually like all of the BBC weather presenters, they don't have any ' cheesy ' ones.

I was wondering who did the weather on todays one o clock news, because I saw John Hammond on News 24 at just before three O Clock and then at 25 past three Sarah Wilmshurst. Then on the six o clock news John was back, i was wondering if Sarah had to go home sick or something because usually the person who takes over from the morning/early afternoon person usually does the six and ten weather.

And on an unrelated note, did anybody see the trailers on MTV a few weeks ago with a mock weather forecast presented none other than John Kettley (I think thats how you spell it), I wonder why the BBC got rid of him/or he left because he was a good forecaster, up there in the realms of Michael Fish, Carol Kirkwood, and Rob McElwee

There is Dan Corbett of course who is a legend, but also some of the more 'unsung' presnters are quite good too, like Nina Ridge and Jay Wynee(s.p?)

It was Sarah.

The best presenters in my opinion, the two Helens, Alex Deakin and of course, Dan Corbett. Smile

I rather like Nina Ridge, but Jay "erm" Wynne is, erm, terrible!

Corbett is, as you say, clearly a legend, with McElwee and Hammond following close behind.

And on the point of this thread, it's quite a shock to see that Isobel Lang is back on the telly again - I assumed she'd done a Suzanne Charlton and mysteriously disappeared after having her baby. It must surely be the longest maternity leave ever though!

Corbett, better than McElwee? Not possible; Rob is in a league of his own nationwide-wise.......

Oh dear, I think I might have upset her...

Rob is indeed extremely good and until our favourite Anglo-American friend came along with talk of hammocks, brollies, bendy weather fronts and tropical troublemakers there was no competition.

I suppose it's all a matter of opinion really.

And anyway Katherine, on a sub-nationwide level... (go on, I know you want to say it!)

I don't think I'll bother - I'll leave it up to others to use their imaginations on this one.....
