BBC1 Wales on Satellite now showing NI continuity.

Well now it is lovely to be with Northern Ireland this afternoon -- I am glad they didn't go with the obvious network feed. It's like something that would happen twenty years ago.

Until that announcement however, I am certain Welsh viewers were puzzled about being told about the availability of weather forecasts for Enniskillen.

EDIT: 15:10 - I've just checked Analogue - BBC 1 is still showing London

When you say analogue is showing London, do you mean programmes from London or is the teletext the London variant?

EDIT: sorry - simultaneous post! Did anyone catch analogue - BBC 1 Ceefax still showing London. One would have thought that if London were able to feed Wales with anything, it'd be Network, not NI, so perhaps analogue is still separate and Cardiff have managed to switch DSat to NI...

You're forgetting that DSat is achieved by all of the regions and nations being "backhauled" to London where they're multiplexed and uplinked to the satellite. It's trivial to switch another region's feed onto the one Wales should be occupying.

However London Ceefax on analogue does suggest that they've come out of RBS and managed to route network straight to the transmitters.

OK, so Network appears to have been routed to the transmitters, and London have switched the Wales feed to NI (as opposed to Cardiff doing so - sorry, forgot about the 'backhauling' to London) - but it seems odd that they've switched us to NI.

A pleasant surprise, but strange that they haven't simply switched us to Network!

From BBC News Online:
Services back after BBC power cut - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7640623.stm (article updated 15:49)

Analogue has still got London Ceefax, though, whilst on DSat Radio Wales is still silent and Radio Cymru is still playing R4.

Still NI continuity on DSat at 16:10 - Network on analogue.

"Now on BBC 1 NI and BBC 1 Wales, who are with us this afternoon due to technical difficulties, ahead of tonight's brand new episode at nine, here's another chance to see last Sunday's 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles'."

Freeview Mux 1 is back but BBC 2W is not. BBC1 pres didn't appear to be from Wales just now?

Did NI use a network symbol or their own?

NI used their own version of Capes. Don't know what's happening on Freeview (can't get it in my area).

EDIT: 16:40 - Radio Wales back on DSat but Radio Cymru now silent
16:50 - Radio Cymru now back.

Welsh continuity back at 17:10 on BBC 1 Wales on DSat - analogue still with Network - but the CA announced 'Songs of Praise'!

Well, at least one word of the programme title was still correct!
