Silver Nemesis
Some problems earlier this evening on BBC One Wales, with the appearance of a local breakdown slide during X-Ray. It was handled well by the director (Dan Austin?), with the decision made to drop the 8pm BBC News update succeeding in getting us back on track ready for EastEnders.

Apologies for the large file size of these clips.

Breakdown slide (2:09, 14.9MB)

Interesting that the breakdown caption is automatically accompanied by music in Wales, unlike the silent network counterpart. Presumably because the announcer/director has to talk to people to get the programme back on air rather than network's announcer who just has to keep the audience informed.

Yes that's right. Also note that the breakdown caption background is shots from the idents, as opposed to Networks plain Red. Not sure about the use of Ident music though.....

Scotland has the music accompanying the breakdown slide as well. I saw it last year at some point when This Week came off air.

An interesting junction just after 2:55 on BBC One Wales into 'The Sound of Music' - the Lawns ident was aired as I don't think we've ever seen it before: without the logo! Apologies for missing the start of the clip.

How odd. And nice Harry Hill reference by the announcer. Very Happy
