I figure if BBC Scotland can have their own thread, why can't the Welsh? Wales have got S4C, but if Scotland are potentially launching a new channel, we could attempt something like that as well. It would be interesting to see the results - probably poor ratings.

NOTE: Wales are on against France tonight on BBC One Wales. If this the first time something like this has happened in a while. I can't recall the last time a home friendly was on one of the BBC One regions before.

I ffigur os gall BBC Scotland wedi eu traed eu hunain, pam na all y Saesneg? Wedi Cymru S4C, ond os bydd o bosibl yn yr Alban yn lansio sianel newydd, gallai geisio gwneud rhywbeth fel hynny yn ogystal. Byddai'n ddiddorol gweld y sgoriau mae'n debyg-canlyniadau gwael.

Nodyn: Cymru yn erbyn Ffrainc heno ar BBC One Wales. Os y tro cyntaf rhywbeth fel hyn a hyn wedi digwydd yn y man. Ni allwn i yn cofio y tro diwethaf oedd gyfeillgar cartref ar un o'r rhanbarthau BBC One cyn.

I like the idea, anyway.

Rwy'n hoffi'r syniad, beth bynnag.

Just caught the junction around SLFN and Eastenders to see how they handled it on BBC Two Wales.

SLFN ends. The generic red BBC One ident plays. BBC News update plays. BBC weather update starts, like when your watching on the HD channel, but Wales Today crashes into it. Sport and Music trails. Fluffy Dog ident into Eastenders.

Considering the circumstances, I'd say that was handled well enough.

If it was on BBC One Wales in the first place, we wouldn't have had to go through with it. I would put Wales v France on BBC Two, even though I'm footy mad.

A bit of a blooper keeping the One logo on a BBC Two, they ideally would've masked it with the BBC2 sting used on iPlayer. Judging from the fact the local news crashed in late though, they probably couldn't have reacted fast enough. The perils of live TV. Entirely avoidable, since the football really should have been on Two, as it was Two's programmes they pre-empted.

I'm a bit disappointed that Wales vs Australia is only on BBC Two Wales tonight. That really does prove how the BBC care more about football than they do rugby. But wait, there is a game on BBC One today... Scotland vs Samoa? Why?

This is akin to that 'Come On England!' caption on ITV1 Wales a few years ago. As for why they do it, I don't know. Society in general seems to have been developing a hatred of the Welsh and our language recently (who could forget that awful Newsnight segment).

It's cause we get all the money nowadays, we do. It's like the Six Nations: Everyone hates Wales and England, us Welsh hate everyone and England don't know who to hate. Scotland are on BBC One in every single region, against Samoa. Should have gone for more rugby rights, BBC. Also, we've been rightly shunted to BBC Two Wales against Panama on Tuesday.

I'm hoping we might be on BBC One vs. New Zealand.

I don't understand this. The number of Wales football matches on BBC1 over the past few years, outside the Euros, can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Rugby has always dominated BBC Wales' thinking over the years.

The Scotland match is on BBC1 because it's a 2.30 kick-off. The Wales match is on BBC2 because it's in primetime and rugby isn't as popular as Strictly. Next week it's the other way round. It's that simple.

Exactly. And considering how rare it is nowadays for Wales to play a top football team live on the BBC moving it to BBC1 was more than justified, even if it is only just to test the water to see where future games would be placed should the BBC have the rights.

On a different note ... does Al Dupres still announce for BBC Wales?
