anyone else see the promo for BBC View Point Midlands after midlands today? - voiced over by Pat Burns - 'coming soon to BBC Two' - i cant make up my mind if its a new programme, or a new name for Midlands at Westminster
I thought it was more likely to be a new name for Midlands Report than a new name for Midlands @ Westminster. I say that because I'd have thought it was fairly important to mention 'Westminster' in the title of regional Westminster programmes.
But then again... Patrick Burns' voice and the M @ W phone number...
EDIT: Maybe it's a new name for both M @ W
and
MidsRpt!!! It could be a branding thing (a bit like LDN, but the affected services will just be BBC Two Midlands programmes, rather than the midlands' TV news, local radio and website)

That branding is horrible - I'm glad I don't live there very often.
Mind you at the moment I'm without TV at all so - eep!

BBC South/South East's Sunday programme is being renamed South on Sunday from South of Westminster, and BBC London's Around Westminster was renamed Metropol a year ago. So the trend actually seems to be away from using the name Westminster.

How has the breakup of NSE affected South on Sun / Metropol? Or has it had no effect? And if not why didn't the SET/LDN switch happen along with SoS/Met? And where did Around Westminster go? Mind you, it has been ages since I watched analog BBC2... the fact our BBC2 picture was so bad was one of the reasons my family got Sky...
We had a strange trailer today about BBC Regional Reception, with a tour around the Marleybone building!

i had a sneeky suspicion that the bbc might have been trying to standardise their regional parliamentary programs - as they did with regional news - but this time go that bit further and have a standard name eg, Viewpoint Midlands, Viewpoint East, Viewpoint London etc. but thankfully theyre not.
the titles look as if theyve been knocked up by a workexperience boy at birmingham too - i was growing to like the purple m@w (im presuming its the new parliamentary prog).
if it is m@w's replacement - the removal of westminster from the name could be due to include things like the European union, local council politics etc.
if it is the new m@w we'll know on sunday

Well, I saw a trail for Tonights Midlands report earlier, so unless that's gping to be-named in the next few weeks I guess it'sM@W, but I could be wrong
