Hi,
I was just thinking that the 'The Simpons' contract runs out in November doesn't it??
If this is true, will BBC TWO be able to continue to show repeats of the simpsons? And, can BBC TWO show the Simpsons at christmas? (I hope so, I like the Simpsons at Christmas!!)

Not really. As far as I'm aware, the BBC can continue to show old episodes of the Simpsons for some time yet (2005 I think), but they can't show anything new. All the new Episodes will be given to Channel 4, then only they're allowed to show them.

I thought that BBC2 could continue to show them until the end of this year, and then Channel 4 can continue showing old episodes that would have been on BBC2 from 2004, and the newer episodes a year later, or something like that?

i thougth that BBC TWO could show them until 2006 (old) and that channel four could start broadcasting season 11 onwards in 2004.

I think the situation is that the BBC has the rights to show the episodes of The Simpsons that they allready have for many years - and may even be able to renew them at that time. Aswell as that, I think the BBC still have some 'new' episodes left to show, and are free to show them within their rights period.
C4 just has a contract for later episodes of the simpsons which the BBC don't hold. They certainly are not taking the simpsons away from the BBC yet (which is why I question the amount of money they spent to get these episodes).
I'm hoping that C4 will finally show them in order. I don't understand why the simpsons gets shown in a completely random order (and occasionally, is randomly shown in the correct order for a few weeks before changing back to random order again).
