So what you're saying is, the new idents have the written logo bigger and on the left side of the screen, while the 'personality' image logos do their stuff on the right hand side.
I love your BBC Three ident!

ok i will spill most of what i know...
The existing BBC 2 idents are going, and new ones coming in, there will be about 7 of them and will be similar to each other, but each will have its own personailty.
The launch is either the 12th or the 17th, the layout of the idents will be like my mocks but the logo is sligtly smaller than mine
and is on the right hand side of the screen.
the feeling is there are too many different 2's at the moment, and they want to have a consistant style to BBC TWO but have personality...
I know nothing about the trailers, i'd luv to find out, but some forum members refuse to comment...
so thats all i know, now let me be damned if anyone is repremanded over this.

Personality idents? That's surely the general term for exactly what we have now? And if Media Arc are doing them, they've obviously not gone the whole hog in employing Lambie-Nairn to do them.
Cheers, Asa
Lambie Nairn just came up with the original concept of a sans serif 2 back in 1990. Since then all new additions to the BBC Two set such as Car, Diary, and Woodpecker have been designed and made in-house by the BBC.

If thats the case why do Lambie Nairn have a video of car on their showreel about BBC 2?

Lambie Nairn came up with the idea for the 2s but BBC actually filmed the live action idents
I agree. I like the 2s the way they are. And it's not often I say that about a logo. They are timeless and these new personality things are bound to be inferior and start looking dated within a few years. What do the BBC think they're doing?

Oh NO! This is HORRIBLE news!
Especially as today,Thursday,is the 9th Anniversery of the 'Powder' ident!
Is it??? Must be Optic's birthday as well then!
I'm still in a state of shock, especially since it's only the other day that I wrote a great long speech on how I thought the 2's would last forever!
