BBC Two Relaunch in November

Monday 19th - definitely.

I was hoping like most ppl that the BBC TWO logos being axed was just a rumour but the SUNDAY TIMES have confirmed my nightmare, the current 2's are finally getting the chop. It will be a great shame, I like Asa will be having my video record in LP for most of this week to hopefully catch an old ident, I'm glad Robert Williams has seen Kebab today, cos I havn't seen that since last year, there must have to be some program on the 2's though as they have been goin a long time and they deserve are attention. If the new ones are crap I'm writing in, they obviously won't put the old ones back, I would just like to voice my opinion!

I doubt there will be anything special this week. The BBC dont go in for that sort of thing. And thelast thing they'd want to do is remind people of how great the old idents were!

I Like the look of that one although not sure about the purple box prehaps it been transparent.

That blue (It is blue not purple in the original print version) box has been around since 1997 and is a graphic the BBC sent round to newspapers to use at the top of the columns on their TV listings. I have a feeling that The Times were given logo-free stills fromthe new idents, and the blue square was added to make it look like a proper ident.

The BBC TWO logo will not change,the corporate logo style is being continued (just look at the logo being used on the BBC FOUR page.

Incidentally, the BBC ONE versionof the blue square image is on an orangey-red background.

Well BBC 2W use a green box with the logo in, so its not out of the question.

Also if anyone has widescreen shots from BBC 2W trailers, trailer end caps, ident, ident menu, i could use them as a guide for making some BBC ONE TWO etc mocks

My big concern now isn't so much the idents as all the other junk they might try to foist on us... CBBC-style cropping, C4-style credit-trashing, a DOG?

It's not so long ago that I thought the BBC would never sink so low as it already has; now I expect it to sink to the lowest abyss of Hell... where quite a few people who work for the BBC belong.

here is a mock of a BBC Two trailer board. Not bad if you ask me, its based on the 2W style which i think will be used on all trailers

When Choice and Knowledge are relaunched as 3 and 4, i would expect they will still have a dog. but this will look a bit odd next to 1 and 2 which dont have a dog. so perhaps when 1 & 2 relaunch, they cud have dogs aswell!
think of the complaints...
