Well a 'This is 2W' 5-min preview came up at 5.55pm today. It started off with an advert for BBC Wales back in the 60s. (Widescreen but presented pillerbox - they can get it right when they try!)
This is what it looks like the idents are going to be like

I pretty sure I saw 'This is 2W' before today. Maybe not.
Notice how the text on the new promos are NOT Gill Sans. I think this new style could be quite nice if it is rolled out across all channels and not selectively.
But, knowing the BBC, I'm sure they'll make a hash of it in some way!

The font on that trailer isn't even Gill Sans! And the BBC 2W idents don't even have a hint of corporate look about them.
Dear oh dear, looks like the fantastic generic look of 1997 is finally being flushed down the toilet for no good reason.
It looks a complete disaster. See signature.

Is the font not Gill Sans? It's too small for me to have a proper look.

I don't agree - the 1997 rebrand across television and radio was absolutely perfect in every way, and I could not see any possible way it could be improved upon. I can't imagine any other broadcasting organisation in the world has had a presentation style as well designed as the BBC's.
It's only that gradually over the past four years that the generic look it's been gradually chipped away - first BBC News 24 broke ranks with the channel logo displayed in the centre of the screen instead of below. More recently, UKTV have broken away, so has BBC Radio, then the trailers on BBC Choice and BBC Knowledge, then BBC 'LDN', and finally the wholesale destruction of the generic look with this totally non-corporate looking BBC 2W, and forthcoming messed up idents and trailers on BBC1 and 2. WHY??????
