Looking at Merry Media it seems the fluffy dog 2 that barks and somersaults is the favourite. And who made that one? Lambie-Nairn. I hope that they can be brouht on board in the future to come up with some ideas for these 'window on the world' idents.
I do quite like the dramatic feel to that one. It'll certainly be interesting to see how or if they match these up to the programmes in coming weeks. Especially the 'sombre/serious' choice of ident, which I expect will have already been factored in this time round (as opposed to having to be introduced later, a'la bounce mk 2)
If you're not a fan of the aqua logo box, check out how it looks on BBC Two Northern Ireland. I think it's obvious why we had 'NI' previously!
I can't believe that they've crammed the whole of "Northern Ireland" into the box!
I can deal with the fact that they've retained a "boxed" logo, and I can deal with the fact that it's now in the opposite corner from before... But, why the hell is it so much further up from the bottom of the screen?! Move it lower, BBC Two,
please
!
First impressions: They're visually quite pleasing; and very Channel 4. The Zoetrope one is really quite 'Wall of Death', mind. The text in the box is just ugly, I really can't quite work out what's wrong with it - but the BBC logo looks wrong, probably because it's too small.
Is there some sort of audio logo to tie them all together? The 2001 set had the four-note 'doo-doo-doo-dooo' (echoing "BBC Two"), and previous to that we had the plinky plonky music. I can't seem to hear anything similar throughout these, which is a bit of a shame.
