That looks to me like a templated graphic which the director may well have typed up very quickly. You can set templates up so that if there's a bit too much text on the top line, it automatically reduces the character width down. If the director had dropped a couple of words from the top line onto the second, the characters would very probably have been 100% width on both lines and the resulting caption would have been much neater.
Presumably this was transmitted over some sort of standby or filler programme? What happened when the snooker resumed?

First shown before the Opening Ceremony, earlier today. Interestingly, the boxed BBC TWO logo doesn't appear at any point, unlike the other variants of Tent.
I have seen a bright green dot appearing in the top left of programmes on BBC Two. So far, I have only seen it appear on an episode of Are you being Served? and the first episode of Stuart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. What could it be?
On the subject of Stuart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, the first episode (the only episode I have seen of this series so far) had a rather moving ending and went out with silent credits and without the CA interrupting it. It was immediately followed by a 'Next' slide of course.
