Yes, I do think they're timeless (some of them at least). They look out of place today because a solitary example of one of them has appeared after a 13 year absence during a period of different style presentation. You see them as of their time because you remember and associate them with the early nineties when they were on TV. They're mostly live action and show timeless objects and materials. If the 1991-2001 set never existed and copper cut out was revealed today, you would not be saying how '1991' some metal with sparks flying off it is. Still, if you find that high brow and think the rather dull but okay 'TWO' was a good presentation era, we have rather different angles of perception and tastes.
Really? I think the original set were really of their day. Seeing them on screen today they just look out of place. They were created to replace something that was deemed to be high-brow... but look like that themselves now.
