The early nineties 2s really are timeless; even blown up slightly for 16:9.
I think if this seasonal presentation has demonstrated anything it's how good BBC Two's presentation has been over the decades. Even the eighties 'TWO', whilst probably the weakest of them, is by no means the worst thing ever shown on TV.

Aren't clocks out now because of the marginally different delays in digital transmission?
I think BBC2 should use all its old idents and pres all day, it would save the channel updating their current idents. Wonder if a clock will ever appear, or is that asking too much!

Makes you wonder if any other channel would ever use old idents for a similar strand. I hope the BBC realises just how legendary BBC Two's branding has been over the years when they come to a rebrand - and not make a balls of it.

Yes sadly. And given that the BBC recently removed its lovely recreation of the classic analogue clock face from their whole website because of one complaint that it wasn't accurate, I think its unlikely ever to return.

But that was a complaint that the recreation on the website was driven by the clock of the device displaying the website so could potentially be hours out. Not quite the same argument as digital delays mean it could be a few seconds out.

Oh blimey, not another discussion on clocks!
Really? I think the original set were really of their day. Seeing them on screen today they just look out of place. They were created to replace something that was deemed to be high-brow... but look like that themselves now.
You think that's the weakest? It was always a design classic and when launched it was fresh and innovative.

It's a muddled policy, all the time the GTS pips appear on BBC radio via DAB, D-Sat, and DTT
