Sorry for bringing up an old thread but as well as afternoon classics, it's good to see BBC2 showing old documentaries like "The War Lords" and "The Road to War". Both haven't been shown since original transmission
Personally, I think we are nearing the end of the current idents' era, especially as they are pulling out some of the old and nostalgic idents. It's seems quite similar to what happened in 2006, with Predator and Christmas 2000 being reintroduced. Also considering that the current albeit dreadful presentation package has been in use for over 7 years, I wouldn't be surprised if a rebrand is announced next year.
As I've also said in the BBC1 thread, I'd be really surprised if there's a rebrand before the new charter is negotiated. It would be seen as madness to 'waste' money on the ident package rather than on programmes at this point.
Black and White Copper Cut-Out, Blade, Copper Cut-Out, Glass, Neon, Paint, Silk and Water - all currently in use on BBC Two Northern Ireland - are 24-years-old today. That's all but two of the original 1991 set (Shadow and Paper Cut-Out have not re-appeared).
BBC Northern Ireland don't use special 'Afternoon Classics' idents like network use, they just use the idents they're using the rest of the time, so the logo on the slide matches those.
I don't think they needed to have the TWO Northern Ireland underneath the 2 logo, just the BBC logo on its own would have done. It also doesn't look centred underneath the 2 logo properly.
