The irony* to this is that these idents (for the most part) are timeless. There's nothing about them that shouts out shell suits or Britpop. It's kinda like saying the Match of the Day theme tune reminds us of Slade, Ted Heath and TVs that seemed to be made out of wood.
*in an Alanis Morrissette sort of way
A tweet I sent to BBC2 NI (@bbctwoni):
"Hi BBC2 NI! Would you please consider showing more of your BBC2 1991-2001 idents during 90s night, this Sat evening. Thank you."
and their reply:
"...yes indeed, zip up that shell suit and set your VCR because we'll be dusting off some 90s idents on Saturday from 2100!"

I thought Network would cop out and use Copper Cutout.

Well they edited all the idents for the 1997 package with the new logo, so presumably they took the clean copies of those without the 1997 logo and simply put the 1991 logo on.
And paint used on Network into Gimme Gimme Gimme. Still 1991 version but widescreen so must be remade.

Is BBC2 Scotland showing the Network feed? I assume so.

I did send BBC2 Network a tweet, requesting for some 1991-2001 idents to be shown. They never replied, so I assumed it wasn't going to happen.
