Two great choices there... Lively and vibrant symbols to brighten up the afternoon.
I have my fingers crossed for Dog and Car.

I'd love to see Firecracker shown.
I must say, being used to seeing these idents in less than great quality online, Optics, Paint and Swan do look fantastic in broadcast quality

Powder was shown on NI before Bergerac.
You just pipped me to the post, in mentioning the showing of Powder. BBC NI are really excelling themselves. Four BBC2 1991-2001 idents, in three days

Shouldn't they be matching up the idents to the original transmission of the repeat they're showing. Really BBC2 might as well ditch the repeats and just show the 1991/97 idents on a loop every afternoon - that could just be the thing to finally kill off Deal or No Deal.
I don't get really why BBC2 network don't show the Welsh Open Snooker this week. It's on BBC Wales and the red button, and they've got nothing else to show.

It's a bit of a shame they couldn't air Swan with the correct logo, as (unlike every other 2 ident, except perhaps Ball) the BBC Two legend is the only clue to the channel's identity after the action.
I guess they want to make it clear that these are 'classic' idents, which is fair enough. Great to see it, and great effort.
Have any post 1997 idents aired (with the correct logo)?

If they show Steam, my personal favourite, in broadcast quality I might lose it somewhat.

A fair point. The only thing is, as they have taken the decision to (as you say, strictly-speaking, incorrectly) use the slanted BBC logo with these idents, would the presentation not appear slightly odd if only Swan had the authentic logo branding used at the time, though?

No, not during Afternoon Classics. However, as you probably know, BBC2 Wales recently aired Powder in widescreen, during BBC Cymru Wales at 50 - with the correct BBC TWO blocks logo.
