I have also emailed BBC2 Wales with my request, but only got a standard reply. Couldn’t find any way of contacting BBC2 Northern Ireland online, so I phoned them instead. After being passed to the relevant department, they seemed to listen to my request with interest and, hopefully, will give it consideration. I haven’t tried to contact BBC2 Scotland, as they didn’t participate, during Afternoon Classics season one.

I'm sure I've seen Cagney and Lacey, Bergerac and others on BBC 2 Scotland during the afternoon...

No, I didn't mean they didn't show the programmes, I meant that (I think I'm correct in saying) they took the feed from Network during the playout of the idents, unlike BBC2 Wales and BBC2 NI.

BBC scotland it seems only has time to deal with making promos for the many current programmes it producing.
Thats not to say there dont care, look at the xmas promos.
Of course the people in wales and ni have these idents create, glasgow does not! During a recent by election programme clips of govan 88 with a network ident at the start... someone went to trouble of getting a reto just not scottish version. I dont beleive a scottish cow is around.
Just been watching the 9.15am junction on BBC One Northern Ireland, and up popped a BBC 2 Northern Ireland 1991-1997 menu slide ('Silk') promoting today's Afternoon Classics. A sign of things to come this afternoon hopefully!

I just happened to catch the last few mins of Bergerac, was that scene at the house/swimming pool dubbed?

... and BBC2 NI Paint ident, shown before 'Allo! 'Allo!
Meanwhile on BBC2 network we had: Striped Ident (Cagney and Lacey), Copper Cutout (Bergerac), Cube (AYBS?), 'TWO' ('Allo, 'Allo).
Really jealous that NI is getting all the good idents

Yes, on this first day of Afternoon Classics Season Two, Network has been completely outshone by BBC2 NI. I keep my fingers crossed that there are more BBC2 NI 1991-2001 idents to come! I do hope Network has some new additions, which they'll show in due course.
Also, hopefully, BBC2 Wales may give us some new additions, when the Welsh Open Snooker coverage ends. I didn't get a chance to check, but I take it BBC2 Scotland are still taking the feed from Network, during ident playout.
Wonder why the BBC2 1991-2001 era idents, so far, all feature the slanted BBC logo, as opposed to the BBC TWO blocks design, seeing as they are the widescreen versions?
