I wouldn't have missed that!

I wasn't expecting the Menu to accompany it! Great finish to the night; well done Paul!

I don't usually post clips with dimensions as big as this, but I thought 'd make an exception, given the graphics stay fine at lower bitrates.

Oh, and I'd like to dedicate this one to r2ro! Laughing

Arrow BBC TWO NI - Invisible Walls Menu & Ident (RM Format; Hi-Res; 2.2MB)

Absolutely fantastic! A brilliant menu followed by a brilliant ident made that extra special by the treat of seeing it to 27seconds and a large quantity clean. I thought I got lucky seeing Snowman Short, complete with BBC Two URL, again ahead of Blizzard but this just tops it off, considering I never expected to see Invisible Walls longer than the 24seconds that network treated us to one morning ahead of Ceefax.

Thanks to all those involved in getting this on air - I've been waiting years to see this!

And as for the person who is criticising members on a television presentation forum for discussing this then the reason why I at least am pleased to see it is because firstly it is my favourite ident, secondly the longest I have ever seen is 24seconds (4 of which was clean), thirdly it is seldom seen with clean amounts lasting more than 4seconds and lastly I have never seen the Invisible Walls menu either. So that's why I am pleased at seeing this, even if it does make me an anorak for liking it.

Personally, I think that's how BBC Two should close each night! It really works well to see the menu lead into the ident.

Makes you wonder just how many menu/ident combos there are! Wouldn't it be nice for someone on Network to actually be bothered to use them sometime before the rebrand?! Rolling Eyes

And people, don't waste your time defending yourself on a presentation forum. You don't have to. Those who've been around a while know these kind of rare presentation bits is exactly why the site was launched in the first place. Don't feed the trolls.

There are integrated menus for about half of the ident set.

i do think the 2 should be animating in the menu, then lead into the ident, perhaps, the 2 is doing something trying to get attention, like a pet doing tricks, then it runs off screen, and it comes on as part of the ident...

Hear, hear!

If about half of the ident set has these accompanying menus as marksi said, then no doubt there's a fair few I haven't seen.

I don't know about showing these every single night! Laughing Maybe once or twice each week would be quite nice.

At the moment they are pretty rare, but to use the menu & ident to finish up on some nights is a great idea.

Well if you're all in the mood for long idents, pull your seat up to BBC TWO NI at 0050 tonight (in half an hour).......long symbol awaits. Calm down y'all! Laughing

Was a long symbol used? If it was then that would be the 4th this week - this week on NI IIRC there has been Bounce in full, Big Read Crowd in full and Invisible Walls in full with accompanying menu.

Add to this the return of Winter Olympics before Ready Steady Cook on network at 15.45 this afternoon, as well as Predator, Ice Cube and Snowman we are certainly getting a bit of variety (at last!)

This however leads me to think that, with details being sketchy, the rebrand could be imminent and as a result giving long playouts and a taste of some of the special idents as well. Anyone with any more information on this or is it simply 'watch this space'?

Fish (Long) was used, it was played for around 25 seconds - so not quite full, but an extended showing with around 15 seconds clean...

Well done BBC NI - a great week of idents

Nice to see the long version of Sticky get an outing on Network just now, and a good one at that. I would be annoyed at the overuse of the short version, were it not for it being the apparent Default Symbol.

Self-Portrait Menu/Ident just spotted, although the start was cut-off by a few seconds of black screen...

Should we read anything into these long versions of the idents that keep being shown? Is the new look closer than we think?

Probably not but hey.
