BBC2 are spoiling us - trust my Sky box to pack up... Rolling Eyes

Invisible Walls looks more interesting with the 2 coming in from the side. Come on network, show us your copy!

I wouldn't have missed that!

I wasn't expecting the Menu to accompany it! Great finish to the night; well done Paul!

I don't usually post clips with dimensions as big as this, but I thought 'd make an exception, given the graphics stay fine at lower bitrates.

Oh, and I'd like to dedicate this one to r2ro! Laughing

Sorry, but why are you all having orgasms about this? Announcer reads a programme menu and says goodnight over a long-established ident... Er... am I missing something?

So you've seen that Menu before have you? That then turns into the ident? And seeing it played out in full?

I didn't think it mattered either way.

Why can't you people on this website discuss proper broadcasting issues instead of boring, geeky and inane vomit-inducing items such as long idents, menus and who the feck is presenting on BBC News 24.

Get a grip.

Haven't you forgotten the real purpose of TV Forum? We're (obviously) discuss all means of TV presentation here including TV Idents. The reason why we're celebrating is because it's a novelty to see a long menu and/or ident that's then followed by a closedown. And I was quite pleased to see the BBC2 Invisible Walls ident where the 2 is on it's side because I have never seen it before.

As Daniel B has just said this is a TV Presentation forum, if you really want to discuss broadcasting issues then get a grip and go somewhere else (please!).

Great capture. Goes to show, the people doing 2's new idents really should continue the theme trend of comic meets dark and sinister. The feel of Two simply wouldn't be the same if they went in a different direction.

Yes; there should be a mixture of both moods. Although I'd appreciate a shift towards a higher proportion of dark/moody idents, seeing as this era has had an abundance of upbeat idents in both visuals and soundtrack.

Although, I would like to see the re-introduction of stings that are different from the idents. I was thinking about just how many stings were created in the 1991 - 2001 era... Seems like there were loads; and they didn't adhere to any set colour scheme, so the variety was immense. I'm not sure whether such will ever resurface; some branding agencies would probably state it isn't consistent enough for todays age, or something!
