BBC Two: new idents from Sunday 18 February

Used before Home.

They've just shown a brand new ident for Home! Anyone see it?

...also a little sting just before it, between two promos. (An old lady polishing the 2!)

They used a new one yesterday before kath and kim, they were sitting with a big rubber 2, they seem to be just one offs, like the fluffy comedy twos we had before.

Seems a bit odd really with a relaunch coming soon. The programmes they're using also seems a bit odd - i mean 'Home' is hardly a big budget new important show really is it.

No, but it has been heavily trailed.

I really hope they do bring back the real world "2" rather than CGI.

Real 2's always looked better to me - although preferably in the middle of the screen and people-free!

The Armstrongs one a while back was awful, definitely not the way forward!

That 2 looks a bit off. The cut-off at the top of the curve should be perfectly vertical (i.e. perpendicular to the base) and that doesn't look like it is.

Incidentally, it was nice to see Snowman before "Blizzard: Race To The Pole" on Sunday. Maybe another outing tonight?

You're probably right. At least from what I can tell, back in '91 when they used real-life 2's in the idents and branding, each cut out / moulded 2 wasn't exactly the same; similar enough for most, but on some, noticeable slight differences.

Now I have nothing against the CGI, but I'd still prefer it to be less similar, if you get me. I.E. Not all yellow.
