I like them too, they're certainly better than the garish, computer generated things we have now
But only just, I mean holding a bit of cardboard over the lens!?! Not even smoothly either it wobbles all over the place (cappuccino)

I must be in the minority here then, I do like them, well some of them.

The problem though is these "2"s have absolutely no personality unlike both the current set and many of the idents from the 90's.
People always talk about the personality 2 but I don't think it actually got a personality until the 1993 stings; before that it was just very static. The yellow 2's were a disaster, going overboard on the personality to the point that after a couple of looks the joke wasn't funny anymore (if it ever was).
There is still something very timeless about the 2's from 1991 to 2001 from the Lambie-Nairn originals, some of Lambie-Nairn's follow ups like 'Fluffy Dog' and the ones the BBC did in-house like Excalibur and Catalyst. Even now they look fresh. Just pure excellence!

I kinda like them - but not sure whether they are really BBC2 material!
Im getting a similar feel to the current ITV1 idents - good or bad thing?
The biggest problem I have with these is the new BBC TWO logo in the left, the ITV4 colour of the box and then a large '2' logo aswell. As branding goes it seems a tad confusing. The previous '2' and BBC TWO logos seem to work well with each other.
As everyone else says it will probably work better onscreen once we see all the other presentation items aswell.
Doesnt seem to be at all distinctive anymore from any other channel!

Play back the seascape ident again. It's a beautiful scene. Now, imagine the camera panning to the beach with hundreds of tiny 2's being washed in. There's no theme, there's no designer's jargon. It's just hundreds of 2's being washed onto a beach. But I can't help thinking that would have looked much better. There are elements of each ident I like. But on the whole, poor.

There must be a second 'Chase' ident because if you look at the bottom of the wallpaper it has the guy walking through, rather than climbing through, the 2.
Roly Keating said they were,'beautifully-executed pieces of film-making in their own right' but they're not in the same league as the quality shown on Channel 4 idents like Tokyo or Dock. I think Channel 4 still have the best idents and BBC2 hasn't been able to match them.

20 seconds is far too short (for operational reasons). They should be at least 30, ideally 60, although of course these could all be cut down for the web.

Ok, they probably didn't want them revealed yet but it's the fault of whoever uploaded them.
A quick edit of the URL and you get...

Along with the other two the BBC Two site has revealed. Can't find Cappucino though

I can't wait for the log of idents shown at every junction for the next week.
R2
For those people watching network - it looks as though Matthew Jackson will be our announcer for the final junction tonight. There's been a good mix of idents though none have been that special.
And I've created a montage of the audio of the current BBC Two idents. Here's the link to the download page as it's too large to upload here:
[[Mod edit: The URL has been removed due to the 'adult' advertising on the site. Recommended uploading to http://www.gorillaenterprises.co.uk/upload or similar.]]
The download button is halfway down on the right hand side in blue.
