BBC Two: new idents from Sunday 18 February

oh, forgot to mention - see the independent today - near the back - tons of complaining by some guy all about the expense gone to to film all the beebs current idents (on 1 and 2)

Seen those videos of the new idents. They look great. I wonder which one will be the first to be played out tommorow morning and what one of the yellow batch will be the last to be played out tonight.

By the way, I saw the winter Olympics/Christmas 2000 ident last night playing into Ski Sunday after Newsnight . It may be its last appearance...

Indeed and a gold star to Northern Ireland which last night showed Logo Menu (7.30pm), Venus Flytrap (into Gardeners' World), Winter Olympics (into Ski Sunday) along with full versions of Remote and Causeway. Excellent stuff!!

My new Hauppauge TV card doesn't seem to be able to adjust the recording volume which currently is ridiculously high, making everything sound distorted, so they're just going to have to stay on my recorder for now. And to think I changed from my AverMedia one in order to find a decent TV card!

Interesting, regarding causeway, do you think we'll see any Northern Ireland Exclusive idents at all with this set?

A bit harsh.... they're only idents!

Not to mention 26 seconds worth of Invisible Walls before Newsnight (a large chunk of it clean), and a full play of the Morris Dancers at 11:35pm - talk about going the extra mile!

I think Network only got Bounce C (or D?) into Newsnight.

I can't help feeling that the audio really lets these idents down; its very weak, and could do with (as I said earlier) more bass. Ones like Mirror or Seascape could greatly be improved with this. I prefer the logo fading in to being on-screen all the time, creates more 'mystery' as the ident moves along.

I don't think the bass is a problem with Mirror, but Seascape could do with a cello or double bass, etc in the background - maybe a la BBC1's Ballet from the dancers era.

I shall take this opportunity to repeat my appeal - please could someone capture these streams and upload them as proper videos for those less fortunate than ourselves, stuck behind crippling dial-up connections or unable to use RealPlayer (which is IMO a blessing...)
