Viewers can also create their own versions - citizen idents - of the new BBC Two look by downloading the 2 template from the channel website - bbc.co.uk/bbctwo.

The template will be available from 28 February, when the transition to the new look website is complete, and the best ones will be posted on the site.


I sense the Mock forum might be about to go into meltdown.

We are not all untrustworthy. I find it a cheek you put that in brackets to make it sound like i am not to be trusted. My source was the BBC themselves as i called them to find out and they told me it would be released this morning. Which it has.

I agree - it continues with the ident legend for this channel.

Not too impressed with the teal box though - the TWO looks like it's got too much kerning and its in a bit of a random font.

It is a shame the box has to stay though. I think it would be better if, for example, in Chase, the man has the BBC2 logo on his shirt. Or, for example, the logo appearing from behind Sunroof or being reflected in Mirror. That's the one way I like ITV1's idents - the way the logo appears.

But overall, a very nice package. My particular favourites are Mirror (very modern and urban), Sunroof and Seascape.

They do seem to harken back to the 91-01 set, in a good way. But I doubt we'll be seeing the last of the 2's robotic state for some odd reason...

But either way,

Avenir is a nice font, used by Nintendo for Wii Advertising...

Love seeing the aqua/teal/greeny blue, colour back. I am surprised it remains in a box...

Don't take it too personally Natty. Unfortunately there are some trolls in these parts who take delight in posting misinformation meaning there's always going to be a level of scepticism over posts announcing any significant presentation news. This is especially true if you don't credit any source for the information. Had you said first time round that you'd phoned the BBC, your post might have carried a bit more weight.

In the end, you were proved to be right and have shown you're not a troll, so you can take pleasure in that, and we will no doubt all be less sceptical when you next post some similarly valuable information.

Your correct Spencer. Perhaps i should have mentioned that i phoned them to start with. Sorry for that little outburst, totally not me.

The new ones seem good although not sure about the tent one.
